The Team Frida Project

#teamfrida.png

Very excited to announce our collaboration with the Team Frida Project.

Frida inspired people all around the world to rescue and adopt in her honor after she passed away. We are celebrating Frida and the collaboration of The Team Frida Project with Wrenn Rescues. Working together will give The Team Frida Project the support needed to further their mission to help animals in need through international networking and fundraising to help offset medical, spay/neuter and emergency costs to give animals a second chance.

What is #teamfrida?

To get here we must start at the beginning. Frida was a rescue cat who was thought to have been hit by a car. She was living at a retirement center as a "friendly feral" cat. She went missing for 10 days and when she returned the left side of her face was swollen, infected and she walked in circles. She was scooped up and taken to the vet. She went into surgery to have teeth removed as they were crumbling - adding to the thought that she had been hit. Her prognosis wasn't good - but she kept on fighting and eating - purring all along.

After 2 weeks in their care, Pamela stepped up to adopt her after only seeing her photos. She fell in love. Over the course of the first week she had breathing problems and an abscess was growing. She was eating and healing but 5 days later it grew again. This time the vet said that she needed an x-ray to see what was going on. They called to say that it was cancer and was starting to lock her jaw decimating the left side of her face. There was only one decision - she was very sick - they only had her for 2 weeks and 1 day. She passed away on January 2, 2018. In that time numerous animals have been rescued in her name. #teamfrida was created and shared all over the world. Hundreds of animals have been rescued in her honor.
